For those looking to liven up their Instagram without spending a fortune heading overseas, look no further than the Dandenong Ranges.

Visitors to the area can find plenty of insta-worthy opportunities all within less than 30 minutes drive from one another.

Burkes lookout on Mount Dandenong is a great stop for visitors that want views as far as the eye can see.

Located at the peak of Mount Dandenong on Kyeema Track, the picturesque outlook towards the city is sure to create a breathtaking shot.

Visitors can access the track from either Eyre Road or Osprey Track and then walk to the lookout which is particularly photogenic at sunrise and sunset.

While on Mount Dandenong, visitors can head to William Ricketts Sanctuary to capture some unique shots.

Nestled in a small inlet on Mount Dandenong Tourist Road, the sanctuary offers an iconic experience.

It hosts over 90 different sculptures carved into rock and tree trunks.

Featuring these on social media will be sure to gain plenty of likes.

The Alfred Nicholas Memorial Gardens is another picture perfect location known for its waterfalls, water features and beautiful landscaping.

But one of the most iconic images visitors can capture is the boat house by the ornamental lake, where numerous visitors go just to get their photo taken.

If it’s more waterfalls photo seekers are after, the Olinda Falls have plenty to offer.

Located within the cool climate of the Olinda Reserve, visitors can snap photos from numerous locations including the viewing platform and base of the falls.

When it comes to doing activities and taking photos, the 1000 Steps is the place to go.

Some would even say they haven’t completed the steps unless it’s posted on Instagram.

The activity not only offers a walk with views under thick forest canopy, but also provides the perfect opportunity to share a workout completion on social media once finished.

If visitors venture about 10 minutes down Burwood Highway towards Belgrave, they will stumble across the Puffing Billy Railway.

Photo opportunities can be found on the train itself or down by the Puffing Billy Railway Trestle Bridge.
