NO LONGER just the domain of grey nomads, caravanning in the Yarra Ranges is a great way to explore the region.
Whether it’s creating life-long memories with the family, enjoying a relaxing getaway from the everyday hustle and bustle, or just soaking up the outdoors experience – there are plenty of options to consider.
And why not start planning with many of the well-established caravan parks in the region within close distance to renowned attractions.
Take, for example, the Marysville Caravan and Holiday Park which is located within walking distance to the amazing Steavenson Falls, which has to be seen to be believed.
Just a short drive away is Lake Mountain which offers snow-play opportunities during snow season or trail-walking and beautiful views in the off-season.
Alternatively there is the picturesque Doon Reserve which backs on to a particularly beautiful section of the Yarra River.
In the background are the unforgettable mountain-scapes that are synonymous with the Upper Yarra region and which include the nearby Mount Donna Buang.
Meanwhile, the Big4-branded holiday park just outside of Healesville represents a great way to escape to the region.
With cabins, caravan sites and camping facilities, there is something for all types of visitors.
Another option is the Warburton Holiday Park, which offers one of the finest locations in the area.
The park has been recently been rebranded and includes many renovations.
Murrindindi Reserve and the Upper Yarra Reservoir Park are well worth exploring, too.
All these options are located within comfortable driving distance of the 80-plus cellar doors in the Yarra Valley as well as the many fantastic walks and trails in the Dandenong Ranges.
This is serenity and activity all rolled into one.
What more could anyone ask for than a caravanning adventure in the Yarra Ranges.
