Beth the Social Enterprise Taxi will hit the roads this season to help Yarra Valley visitors sightsee with ease.
Beth is a well-maintained 2014 Ford Territory who presents as an individualised classic yellow taxi.
She comfortably transfers up to four people and has plenty of space for luggage.
During the week, Beth does transfers to and from the city and airport.
On weekends, she stays local to Healesville but often takes people to Lilydale to catch a train or another Uber or taxi.
Beth is owned and operated by a small non-for-profit organisation called Freedom by Design Inc (FBD).
Her purpose is to provide an ongoing stream of income for the charity.
Beth offers a taxi service that is transparent with all fares going through the meter and set at industry standards.
She is driven by a small team of drivers who have completed intensive training.
They are also registered with Driver Accreditation from the Commerical Passenger Vehicles Victoria (CPVV).
Beth aims to provide a good taxi experience by arriving on time when booked, being clean and having a driver that is knowledgeable of local geography, tourism and displays good driving skills.
FBD claimed that customers who travel with Beth can be 100 per cent sure their request is being held in highly dedicated and professional hands.
Through FBD’s sponsorship, Beth is garaged at the RACV Club in Healesville.
During Rochford’s A Day on the Green events, Beth will join forces with her big brother (an eight-seater). He will be doing return trips to Rochford Wines.
FBD will also be running a ‘We Love Beth’ fundraiser.
