Warburton may be at the end of the line … but it’s absolutely in line when it comes to boutique shopping for one-of-a-kind summer fashion and accessories.
The charm of Warburton is in its historic buildings, many of them now cafes that have opened their back doors to take in views of the magnificent Yarra River. Strip shopping in central Warburton and in the intriguingly named ‘LaLa’ end of town offers quaint book shops, artisan clothing and jewellery, along with opportunities to grab something uniquely ‘retro’ for a bargain price.
Anita Easson from the sweet-smelling Sassy Soaps, went exploring for an outfit that shouts “summer style”.
“I started with the dress which I think really speaks of summer with bright, happy colours, and light easy-to wear cotton that makes so versatile.
“I chose the bag because it picks up the magenta in the dress, adds a splash of colour and, again is versatile in that you can sling it over your shoulder to leave you hands-free. The shoes are a really comfortable and quality leather pump and were an absolute bargain. The necklace really suits the era of the dress and I thought the lovely detail of the little flower on the side was quite unusual. I chose the bracelet and earings complement the necklace without competing too much.”
