For Michelle Day, her artwork is inspired by her surroundings, the community and a very special person.
At the time of the devastating bushfires, Ms Day was living in Kinglake where she gathered inspiration on community spirit to create a work of art, a mosaic on a turtle.
She said her work has been greatly inspired by Liz Lucas from Yarra Valley Gifts.
“Liz has put so much effort into displaying my work and inspiring me to do what I do,” Ms Day said.
“She’s so passionate about what she does and she has always encouraged me to better myself.”
Yarra Valley Gifts promotes local and Australian made products from glassware to hand crafted jewellery and skin care products.
Her work is environmentally friendly and she encourages recycling to be used to prevent waste.
Visitors can enjoy a glass of wine while they ponder the artworks of some of the Yarra Valley’s best artists at Yarra Valley Gifts.
