1. Sassafras Creek Trail Walk
Whether a regular hiker or more of a wanderer, the Sassafras Creek Trail offers beautiful scenery and a challenging physical activity. The trail starts in Sassafras where the creek crosses Mount Dandenong Tourist Road and leads walkers through Kallista and towards Emerald. Set aside a few hours and enjoy the diverse wildlife and breath-taking flora, including the endangered Slender Tree Fern. You may even spot a lyrebird as you take in the serenity of the hills. The trail walk starts at 411 Mount Dandenong Tourist Road, Sassafras.
2. Devonshire Tea
Connoisseurs of tea and scones will delight in the many cafes in the area. Miss Marple’s Tearoom, Dine Divine and Sassafras Cafe each offer visitors excellent Devonshire tea with priceless views to make the experience truly memorable. 4. Photography
With its breath-taking natural beauty, it’s hard to take a bad photo of Sassafras flora and fauna. Venture out at sunset and not only will you be treated to stunning lighting, but may also find a kangaroo to pose for a picture.
