NO matter what kind of entertainment rouses your imagination during springtime, the Yarra Ranges has it covered.
From the sensory delights of the celebrated Tesselaar Tulip Festival, to the atmosphere and wonder of the Wandin-Silvan Field Days – there is something for all ages and interests.
The 63rd instalment of the Tulip Festival is ready for spring, with fields of fun for the whole family.
Each year, the tulip festival, located at the Tulip Farm in Silvan, is made bigger and better than the last.
This year is sure to deliver.
Visitors will be amazed by the beauty of almost one million tulips across 25 acres of farmland, all set in the beautiful Dandenong Ranges.
The Tesselaar Tulip Festival 2016 dates are Thursday 8 September to Tuesday 4 October.
Meanwhile, the 47th Annual Wandin Silvan Field Days will be held on Friday 14 and Saturday 15 October.
Horticultural and farm machinery exhibitions will be just some of the attractions on offer.
With about 200 presenters, the two-day event offers exhibitors the chance to showcase and inform visitors of all the very latest practices.
The Wandin-Silvan Field Days are held at the Wandin East Recreation Reserve.
Or, why not consider the Rotary Club of Alexandra, which will host the third ‘All Makes’ annual automotive swap meet on Sunday 9 October.
All makes and models of cars, four-wheel-drive, motorcycle parts and accessories, as well as bric-a-brac, old wares and collectables.
The swap meet will be located at the Alexandra Show Grounds, 53 William Street, Alexandra.
Though, if it’s something more low-key that you’re after, why not consider the Toolangi C.J Dennis Poetry Festival.
The festival will be held on the weekend of Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 October, at ‘The Singing Gardens’ in Toolangi, the site of C.J Dennis’s original home.
