YARRA Valley Gifts offers unique opportunities for gift-hunters due to its availability of Australian-made and local ware.
The popular business, owned by Liz Lucas, offers 75 per cent of local and Australian-made products, in addition to providing tourist information on the area.
“We offer something different to the usual gift shop by promoting mostly local and Australian-made wares,” she said.
“The Visitor Information stand is located at the back of the shop, offering maps and flyers of interest on the local area.”
Yarra Valley Gifts sells artisan wares in timber, glass, mosaic and pottery; including Indigenous, hand-crafted items such as cards, heat packs, doorstops; and scarves in felt, silk and wool.
Also available are locally made skincare, soaps and candles.
They also have a range of children’s books, written in Western Australia as well as by local authors.
They import children’s toys, body brushes, disposable decorative tableware and some glassware.
Ms Lucas said the shop had plenty of great features.
“The fact that we concentrate our efforts on sourcing locally produced items is a main attraction,” she said.
“We are always on the lookout for quality artisan and handcrafted items to feature in the store.”
Ms Lucas said Yarra Glen was one of the friendliest areas in which she had worked.
“The locals are very supportive,” she said.
Yarra Valley Gifts is located at 22 Bell Street, Yarra Glen.
