THE Spring Carnival is off and racing in the Yarra Valley.
If a day out at the horse races is part of your spring plans, the Yarra Valley has two very different venues, but both with incredible racing experiences on offer.
You can have a flutter trackside at Yarra Valley Racing (YVR) in Yarra Glen, or at the Healesville Amateur Racing Club (HARC).
The tracks are geared up for families, with plenty of entertainment and games.
They are well-equipped and provide emphasis on providing facilities and spaces where families can enjoy a relaxing day out with plenty to keep everyone happy and entertained.
It’s not all about the kids, however, and each track offers great dining and marquee packages for young people, family, community and corporate groups, as well as lots of lawn areas for picnics.
And, then there are the horses.
For the more serious punters, there are TAB facilities along with the on-course bookies who provide betting on local and other meetings, as well as adding to the race-day atmosphere.
Upcoming events at Yarra Valley Racing include:
* Cox Plate Day on Saturday 22 October;
* Melbourne Cup Day on Tuesday 01 November;
* Pacing Cup Day on Thursday 03 November.
Upcoming events at Healesville Amateur Racing Club include:
* Derby Day on Saturday 29 October;
* Spring Race Meeting on Saturday 19 November.
Melbourne might be Australia’s racing capital, but the Yarra Valley has plenty to offer racegoers who are keen for a flutter or a day out.
Don’t limit yourself this spring.
