SITUATED in the barn of the iconic Yering Station is the longest running market in Victoria.
Founded more than 12 years ago, the Yarra Valley Regional Food Group Farmers’ Market is humming with shoppers on the third Sunday of each month.
The hustle and bustle of this community market is filled with friendly faces, mouth-watering produce and creative crafts that capture the very essence of what the Yarra Valley has to offer.
Market organiser Francis Caltieri said it’s a one-stop shop where visitors can purchase all their gourmet delights, meet the producer, grower and maker all in the one setting.
“It’s a traditional indoor market set in an absolutely beautiful location,” she said.
“You know everything here is fresh, of good quality and, on average, each market sees anywhere from 1500 to 3000 people walk through.”
The market came about after the Yarra Valley Regional Food Group wanted to utilise the barn on Yering Station.
“This makes it an all-weather market and it is the only market in this area that the product is all gown in the area,” Ms Caltieri said.
“There is plenty of parking and there is no entry fee to visit.”
